The generation of heat requires a lot of energy. For this purpose, mainly fossil fuels are used worldwide, which produce CO2 during combustion. In addition, electrical energy is generated from heat.

Emissions for electricity generation have fallen slightly due to wind and solar technology, but global energy demand is constantly rising.

According to the Federal Environmental Agency, the energy sector in Germany currently accounts for approx. 83% of greenhouse gas emissions. Worldwide it is over 90%. Nine out of ten coal-fired power plants are built in China

The great art of measuring directly in the flue gas

Sensors that are located directly in the flue gas must permanently survive unreal conditions. They are exposed to an extremely aggressive environment. High temperatures, coupled with moisture and aggressive molecules, usually mean rapid destruction for sensors.

Sensitu has taken on this task and has developed and patented sensors for these conditions.

Sensitu Sensors

Our sensors do not measure the residual oxygen content in the exhaust gas, as is common in industry, but the fuel content. These are molecules that leave the chimney unburned. The unbeatable advantage of fuel measurement is that the fuel can be measured continuously from excess air to a lack of air, even if there is no residual oxygen in the exhaust gas.

A fuel measurement in the exhaust gas makes precise statements about the state of a combustion, regardless of which fossil fuels are used. This makes it possible to set the best combustion efficiency.

That means: high energy and fuel savings, minimal CO2 emissions with minimal fine dust production and maximum heat energy recovery.

Experts estimate that fossil fuels will continue to be burned worldwide until the middle of this century.

The Probe-S for large series

We have developed the Sonde-S especially for the heating market. In Europe there are about 120 million heating systems installed, the majority of them are outdated and need to be replaced.

When burning wood (biomass), up to 80% emissions can be saved with Sensitu sensor technology. Even with the relatively clean gas combustion it is about 2%, this is also true for condensing boilers.

In the next step, further large probe types for the process heat industry are planned.
